Labyrinth

Vera School’s Labyrinth is a classical seven-circuit labyrinth and was sponsored by the Western Province Owners and Trainers Association. It is situated outside the hall next to the swimming pools.

Walking through a classical seven-circuit labyrinth is an easy walk and is known for creating a form of harmony.  It is said to have a calming and relaxing effect. It is remarkably simple to use, requires no special skills or knowledge and anyone can benefit from it. By following the single path to the centre and then to walk back out, it allows the mind to disengage from the normal pressures of thinking, unlike a maze which requires thought and logic.

The labyrinth can be used as part of a learner’s programme to assist with modulating behaviour and/or as a calming technique.
